The Ready for Construction Pathway (Level 1) is designed to equip learners with the essential skills, safety awareness, and practical knowledge required to begin working in the construction industry. The pathway includes the Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Working in Construction and the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
Learners develop practical abilities in interior fitting tasks, basic joinery techniques, carpentry hand skills, and essential decorating skills. Training includes applying paint by brush and roller, preparing ceilings and walls for decoration, and developing wallpapering techniques to industry standards.
Upon successful completion, learners become eligible to apply for the CSCS Green Card (Labourer), enabling them to work safely on construction sites and take their first step into a wide range of entry-level construction roles.
