Overview: The Safety Critical Mentoring course provides essential training for working safely in rail and underground environments. It equips learners with knowledge, practical skills, and recognized certifications required for safety-critical roles across the rail network and London Underground.
Key Components: The course includes Network Rail (NWR) tickets such as Personal Track Safety (PTS/AC), DC Conductor Rails (PTS/DCCR Initial), Track Induction Course (NWR Track Induction – TIC), Access Overhead Lines Construction Sites (OLEC 1), and Controller of Site Safety (COSS). For London Underground (LU), it covers Worksite Safety Induction (LU WSI) and Basic Track Awareness (BTA).
Progression: Successful completion enables learners to access safety-critical roles on the rail network or London Underground, supporting career progression in track operations, site management, and mentoring positions.
The course combines classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and competency-based assessments. Each ticket is aligned with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring learners are fully prepared for real-world rail operations.
Learners should have a basic understanding of rail operations or relevant work experience. Physical fitness and adherence to safety regulations are essential.
